All’s Fair in Love and War... and Politics
The victor will never be asked if he told the truth
Adolf Hitler

I have never understood the meaning of “All’s fair in love”; but  I've always
understood “All’s fair in war”.   The point is: to win! Crush the enemy any way you
can.  Make them suffer and submit or be destroyed.   Right doesn't have to be on
your side.  Power, cunning and savagery are the only tools of the trade needed.
The end always justifies the means.

Unfortunately, "What's Fair" in politics all too closely resembles the rules of war.
It is really a simple and effective plan.  You decide what you want to do, for
whatever your reasons; and then you do it.   Maybe you have to divert attention
away from the real battle.  Maybe you have to lie a bit, or a lot. But, If you can’t
figure out an honorable or logical way to win the argument or achieve the results,
you crush the opposition.  All you need is the power.

We've all witnessed it.  It happens from all sides.  Remember the Swift Boat Vets
or Dan Rather's pretend documents; both geared to assail the characters of the
candidates for their actions of 30 years ago... and neither charge had anything to
do with the real issues. Rush Limbaugh constantly referred to Kerry as the "tall
French-looking candidate" (The idea was: you can't vote for him; why, we don't
even eat french fries anymore. Besides, he has a scary wife who donates her
fortune to support terrorists).  President Bush was portrayed as a rube.  Well, I
guess we have to concede rubes will beat Frenchies in the old USA every time.
Issues like health care, the deficit, and the war gave way to gay marriage,
abortion, and stem cell research as the deciders in the voting booth.

There seems to be too little common sense, too little honor, too little tolerance,
too little respect and too little truth  in how "We, the people" allow the country to
be run today.  We are gripped by fear and led by power groups that purport to
protect us as long as we follow them in their self-serving quests.  When we get in
their way, though, we become the enemy  that must suffer, submit or be
destroyed. This is no way to run a Democracy. If Abe Lincoln was to debate
Douglas in today's world, I'm sure Abe would step up to the platform knowing that
all around town there were bills posted referring to him as a rather homely tall
French looking candidate, who's wife has mental problems.

The question I have to ask is:  how
could this random collection of old
people change so much in the past
two years?  How did we allow our
selves to become so contaminated
in such a short time.  Did the
president overlook these alleged
failings when he wanted to get the
prescription drug plan passed, or
have we really fallen this far since
the election?

No, this is just part of the plan:
destroy the opposition!

USA Next has freely admitted they receive much of their $upport from food,
nutrition, energy and drug companies. Much of their advertising has been in
support of pharmaceutical companies.  "...
The group spent more money than
any other interest group on House races that  year [2002], according to a study
by the Wisconsin Advertising Project, ..."   And a report, from "Public Citizen's
Congress Watch" denounced USA Next; calling its leadership 'hired guns'.

Isn't it time for us to stand up to these groups and let them know we will not
tolerate ads that have no constructive purpose?  Isn't it time to try to inject
some civility into our political process?  Let's search for the truth, assess the
real implications as they affect all of us; brush the dust from our tolerance,
respect, and honor and then, give the brush off to the people who insist the
way to win is to destroy the opposition.

Whether you support or oppose the Social Security Reform:  oppose this ad
that has not a thing to do with Social Security, but is intended to drive another
wedge into our society.

Though the elections are over, the battles continue!
Social Security has been pitched into the public arena.
Facts are cloudy, the plan is elusive; but by golly,
Governor Bush said  we ought to have private accounts,
and we are going to do that regardless of what it
takes.(That was in 1978, when he said SS would be broke
in 10 years.)

Lacking a strong program to present to the people for
reforming Social Security, "USA Next" has volunteered to
step up to the plate and savage the major opponent,
AARP.  AARP was the President's darling during the push
for the Medicare drug program; they supported it.  But
they oppose the president's plan to "fix" Social Security
and add private accounts. This was not a wise choice!
AARP, beware!

USA Next is headed by Charlie Jarvis, the former deputy
under secretary of the interior for Reagan and Bush I.
He has employed  Rick Reed, Chris LaCivita,  Creative
Response Concepts, and Regency Publishing who were
all part of the group that powered the Swift Boat
Veterans 'Attack Dog Group'. They don't plan to discuss
Social Security;  their plan is simply to discredit ARRP by
labeling it a secular, liberal front group for left wing
radicals.  By definition then, AARP members become
people who: have no family values, support abortion &
gay marriage, and oppose the war and the troops. Those
who don't want to be labeled that way will quit.

Dr. Ernst Mayr died Feb. 3, 2005 of Liver Cancer.

Dr. Mayr was the Harvard Biologist who took the
sweeping evolutionary claims of Charles Darwin
and showed how the complex process actually
worked.  Mayr created the first working definition
of what a species is, and showed how genetics
and population movement combined to form new
species, an intellectual process known as
evolutionary synthesis.  Steven Jay Gould a
Harvard biologist termed it "one of the half dozen
major scientific achievements of our century"

I  believe that some think Dr. Mayr's life and work
were cut short as punishment for his  lack of
integration of divine intervention in to his work.  At
his death Dr. Mayr was 100.

No doubt there will be a  movement marshaled  by
the State of Kansas Attorney General to sticker
Dr. Mayr's 25 books wherever they reside in
libraries through out the entire United States: the
note will read:
"Evolution is just a theory, it
is not a fact!"
Neo-Darwin founder dies
Enrollment  will drop and AARP becomes a less powerful presence. AARP will
be spending a great deal of time fending off false claims and trying to explain
that a position on gay marriage should not play any part in advocating for the
elderly.  They will have less time to work with Congress.   In any event, after
the smear campaign, who will listen to a group of left wing wacko old people
that are pushing gay marriage?
Slick program, don't you think?  No need to research Social Security; to win
all you have to do is show up and start lobbing ridiculous accusations and
step back. As an opener in their $10 million campaign they will start with this
